Overview

Lûqæ Læs̺û Kâchyâ was founded durring the early 12th century in fall of the year 1149, by Zlkartesí. The establishment of Lûqæ Læs̺û Kâchyâ was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Zlkartesí struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Lûqæ Læs̺û Kâchyâ as a prison colony.

Lûqæ Læs̺û Kâchyâ was built using the conventions of Rattu durring the early 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Lûqæ Læs̺û Kâchyâ is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Lûqæ Læs̺û Kâchyâ is buildings are grouped arround an odd layout of restrictive flagstone streets, which seems to be based on an overlapping squair patern such that there are small squares at the cornor of every bigger square. Sometimes buildings exist in the smaller squaires, other times they are open spaces, or occupied by temporary structures. The city is the proud owner of a thick set of fortified walls fashioned from querried stone blocks. While not up to snuff for a fort or castle wall, the city's walls are naturaly much larger than those of forts or castles. Therefore, the construction such a wall is most expencive. Lûqæ Læs̺û Kâchyâ's buget focused wall would serve its community well in battle in spite of looking unimpressive compared to castles and fortresses. The city's top tier civilian fortifications are visibly old, but also obviously well maintained. Its likly the local malishia or garrison are tasked with routine mantance of the city's defences.

Right off the bat Lûqæ Læs̺û Kâchyâ hits you in the face with its success. Everyone, even the peasants, are dressed in well made clothing. Every tool and implement you can see is finely made, and people will boast to you as obvious strangers of the wonders which can be found in their markets. More interestingly is a total lack of beggars, and plenty of new buildings are going up even as you speak. Somehow this city has come into quite a lot of wealth, and recently from the looks of things. The influx of wealth has brought with it an influx of relaxation. Everywhere you look people are enjoying their prosperity in a slow, casual, and deliberate manner. There’s no rush for anything anywhere you look.

Points of Interest

While private tutelage of worthy apprentices can be had even in most remote villages, Lûqæ Læs̺û Kâchyâ is home to a proper school dedicated to teaching magic. Such schools are usually small, with no more than a few dozen pupils, most of whom will fail for lack of talent or discipline. The instructors are rarely first-rate, usually serving only for the pay and status, but sometimes a genius sorcerer will find a reason to observe likely apprentices here. Given the unfortunate accident potential of the school, it’s probably isolated or well-fortified.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century, Lûqæ Læs̺û Kâchyâ was attacked by soldiers from another nation, waging a greater campaign. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Lûqæ Læs̺û Kâchyâ lost 192 people, 328 livestock, and 62 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 139, when members of Lûqæ Læs̺û Kâchyâ's militia enacted an operation to scout a specific location for information about the enemy. The operation was complicated by the army being put into a position where they could only choose between two terrible options. The conflict ended with pitched battle between both forces, which ended in a stalemate for Lûqæ Læs̺û Kâchyâ's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Lûqæ Læs̺û Kâchyâ's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
